Established in 1999, Pure Hockey Goaltending has grown to become one of the most respected goalie development programs in South Western Ontario.

Our success is based on our continuous study of the game at all levels. We seek out experts specializing in goaltending, such as equipment manufacturers, fitness professionals, sports psychologists, educators and trainers and pass that knowledge on to our students.

At PHG, it is our goal to provide our goaltenders of all ages and abilities with the most up-to-date on-ice development and off-ice preparation in order for them to obtain the values and skills required to lead to success both in the blue ice and out.

We focus on improving the development of your natural ability, mental preparation, reflexes and basic fundamentals. We put goaltenders in challenging situations so they develop beyond their comfort zone. In saying that, we will not try to change the playing style of the goaltender. We feel that each goaltender brings a unique approach to the game based on the individual's psychological characteristics, technical skills, and athletic abilities. Therefore, we will work on improving their weaknesses and building on their strengths.

Young goaltenders must learn from doing movements and techniques properly over and over again. Goaltenders who cannot understand their problems should look at the quality and time in training. They must learn to be as good as they train.
We strongly believe that if you teach goaltenders to play controlled hockey in practice, you can count on it in games. With dedication, intensity and focus, you will be sure to notice an improvement in your game.

Remember, value the development of the goaltender rather than the next win.

Our instructors are all schooled on the proper techniques being taught by PHG. There will be a qualified goaltender instructor supervising at each station watching the goaltender in the net and offering valuable feedback to each goaltender when they have completed the drill. Demonstrations are powerful teaching tools; therefore, all instructors will be wearing their goalie pads to better demonstrate the drills.

Our shooters are of Pro, Junior or AAA calibre. They are supervised to shoot where the drills specify in order for the goaltenders to gain maximum benefit from each drill.
